How to bridge to Base
Bridging moves your ETH from Ethereum (or another chain) onto Base so you can pay fees and trade there. The safest route is the official Base bridge or a direct exchange withdrawal.
What is bridging?
Each chain holds its own funds. Bridging moves value from one chain to another — for example, ETH from Ethereum to Base — so you can use it for Base fees and trading.
Option 1 — Official Base bridge
- Go to the official Base bridge (bridge.base.org).
- Connect your wallet on Ethereum.
- Enter the ETH amount and confirm.
- Wait for it to arrive on Base.
Always type or bookmark the official URL to avoid fakes.
Option 2 — Direct from an exchange
The easiest method: on Coinbase (and some others) you can withdraw ETH directly to the Base network, skipping the bridge entirely. Choose "Base" as the network when withdrawing.
Bridging safety
- Only use official bridges; phishing bridges are a common scam.
- Double-check the network and address.
- Start with a small test amount.
