TON fees explained
TON transactions cost a fraction of a cent. Here is how gas works, what storage fees are, what you pay in, and how to get the TON you need.
Why TON fees are low
TON uses sharding to spread load across many chains at once, so it does not get congested. A fee is mostly gas (computation) plus a small forward fee for messages — both tiny, usually a fraction of a cent even for deploying a token.
Storage fees
TON charges a very small ongoing storage fee for data kept on-chain (like your token's contracts). It is negligible for normal use — a tiny amount of TON in the contract covers it for a long time.
What you pay fees in
All TON gas is paid in Toncoin (TON). A small balance covers deploying a Jetton plus many transfers.
How to get TON
- Buy TON on a major exchange and withdraw it to your TON wallet address.
- Or buy directly inside the Telegram Wallet.
- Keep a little extra for gas on top of any service fee.
Fees when creating a token
Deploying a Jetton costs the small network gas plus any service fee — far cheaper than Ethereum. Try the TON token creator or estimate with our cost calculator.
Frequently asked questions
How much are TON gas fees?
Usually a fraction of a cent. Even deploying a token costs only a small amount of TON plus any service fee.
What coin pays TON fees?
Toncoin (TON), the native coin. Keep a small amount in your wallet.
What are storage fees on TON?
A tiny ongoing charge for keeping contract data on-chain. It is negligible for normal token use.
